What this skill does
typescript-mcp-server-generator has your agent create a complete Model Context Protocol server project in TypeScript, using version 2 of the official MCP TypeScript SDK. It is a fast way to go from an idea — expose this API, this database, this internal tool — to a working server with a sound structure.
The skill is precise about the modern stack. The retired monolithic SDK package is replaced by the focused v2 packages: the server package with its stdio transport, the Node HTTP transport or a framework adapter such as Express or Hono, and the core package for shared protocol schemas, with Zod 4.2 or later for validation. Projects target Node.js 20 or later and are ESM-first. You choose between a Streamable HTTP server and a stdio server; the removed SSE and WebSocket transports are never generated.
Every generated server includes at least one useful tool with schema validation and comprehensive error handling, and it can add resources and prompts. The skill also covers configuration options, testing guidance and how to migrate an existing v1 server to v2. Use it with Claude Code to bootstrap a new MCP server in minutes and connect it to any compatible host.

How to use with Claude Code & AI Agents
Install the skill
Run the command above at the root of your project. The CLI asks which agents to set up — Claude Code, Cursor and other supported agents — and adds typescript-mcp-server-generator to the project, so teammates who pull the repository get it too. Add-gto install it for your user account across every project.Open a new agent session
Start a fresh Claude Code session in that project so the agent loads the new skill. Have ready: Node.js 20 or later.Ask in plain words
Describe the task, for example:“Generate a TypeScript MCP server that exposes our weather API as a tool over stdio.”The agent matches your request to the skill's description and follows its SKILL.md instructions step by step. Read them on GitHub before using the skill on a system that matters.
